"Jeritan Kami" A Monologue for Alawy
Project type
Monologue Performance, Charity Performance
Date
October 2012
Location
Jakarta, Indonesia
Hadi Aktsar conveys the voice of the young generation's anxiety through the monologue "Jeritan Kami," a work that challenges the phenomenon of student brawls in Jakarta. Taken from the tragic story of Alawy Yusianto Putra (15), a student of Jakarta State High School 6 who was the victim of a mistaken target in a brawl, this performance becomes a stage to launch sharp criticism of the weak role of schools, parents, and the government in addressing the root of the problem.
Staged at Ayodya Park, not far from the location of the tragedy that claimed Alawy's life, Hadi uses public space as a silent witness who brings to life the screams of a generation trapped in a cycle of violence. In this emotional monologue, he brings to life a portrait of loss, anger, and the desire for change, raising awareness that every young life lost is a collective failure.
"Jeritan Kami" is not only an expression of grief, but also a call to action, reminding that the energy of young people must be directed towards positive activities, not trapped in destructive conflict. The title of "The Best Five Actor" won by Hadi in the Festival Monolog Ruang Publik 2012 is strong evidence that art can be a medium for change. All honorariums and donations from this performance go to the Alawy's family, making this monologue more than just a performance—it is a real act of charity for humanity.
